Going out of my usual style of posting, this post features a video about the $5 billion textile industry of Bangladesh, in an effort to make the blog more lively. The video has great clips on the factories and people who manufacture all the clothes we shop for in the fancy brand names. Trade deficit – India’s help to Bangladesh

This is for sure an interesting development, India has been taking much care in the trade of Bangladesh recently. Investment to the tune of $5 billion is coming  up in sectors like telecom, pharma, chemical, food processing and labour intensive sectors.

Pakistan textile exports grows by 30%

It has been a tough year for Pakistan, first the Turkish tax raise,then the internal tax raise, and then the cotton price increase, these should have affected the trade, but they did not. Here is a recent news clipping

Despite challenges of energy shortage, the textile exports surged by 30.43 percent during the first nine months of the current fiscal year as against the same period of last year. Textile exports during July-March (2010-11) were recorded at US$9.880 billion as against the exports of US$7.575 billion during last year, according to Federal Bureau of Statistic (FBS) data.
